Hi everyone!!
Another rabbit from my collection. This is a vintage bronze anthropomorphic rabbit playing accordion. He's really very detailed, right down the rose print on his jacket. I'm not exactly sure of how old this one is, but the person I purchased him from said that it had been in storage for quite a long time (30+ years) and was vintage when they took possession of him. He reminds me of a character out of a J.J. Grandville illustration.
He stands just over 15" tall. I can find no markings to indicate who the maker was. Anyway, I hope you enjoy seeing him as much as I do.
Thank you all for stopping in. I do appreciate each and every one of you!!!!!!!

Really love your beautiful humanized rabbit, think they call that type anthromorphic & shows its creator really loves animals. The stylish jacket & stockings are quite Shakespearean, as is his accordion merrymaking
He's got great legs :)
Karen,LOL, you know where to look, ha ha, kinda agree with you thought, he got everything, very nice looking fellow, and your photo are great Scott.
A fine anthropomorphic accordionist.
The accordian must make him all the more desirable !~
Made for you Scotty. This is awesome if it didn't have the accordion it almost looks like Egyptian.
Love, love him Scott!!
Karen stole my initial reaction.......he has got great legs! Lol :-)
Jenni,
Thank you so very much!! Yep, anthropomorphic is definitely the term. He is quite stylish.
Lol Karen!! Yep, he's got a sturdy pair of legs for sure:)
Thank you Alan!! He is a nice looking fellow indeed!!!
Thanks fortapache!!
Thanks Phil!! I thought so as well. But, my wife says he's her least favorite of all my rabbits and hares.
Thanks Roy!! You're absolutely right about that. Now that you've mentioned it, he would look a bit Egyptian without the accordion.
Thank you so much Judy!! I guess you could say he's got great legs for sure:)

We an identical rabbit but it’s a pair and they are candelabras- but can’t find any information on them or anything similar - do you have any information you’d be willing to share ?
dburrow,
I believe this was marketed by Maitland-Smith who is well known for it's unique and unusual housewares. I don't believe it is old at all, just unique. I've seen this same rabbit available in a cello player as well as a guitar player design.
vcal,
Many thanks for the love and for stopping by!!
