Rare Japanned Deep Siam Red Sherman Bracelet, Signed
The bracelet was made by Gustave Sherman in Canada sometime in the 50's to 1960's. Sherman Jewellery is highly collectible and hard to get from dealers in the states because of duties charged and not sure if I will get the duties back after I make a claim ! I love to see the pieces come home to Canada.
Sometimes in your hunt for the next best rare piece, one forgets about the best treasures they already own. When I first started to collect I bought this Siam Red bracelet. I had learned early about Siam Red being a very rare colour in Sherman Jewellery, mostly in bracelets and necklaces. There are a lot of brooches made although unless they are part of a parure, they have far less rarity. A very high end brooch would be hard to find in any colour esp Siam Red.
Siam refers to blood red colour of the deepest of reds. It is mesmerizing on a bracelet for instance. Bracelets are what I collect most of when it comes to Sherman so it is important to have one this colour. ...G
Red has long been my color Phil.

Thank you Mani, it is blood red, in colour. Apparently they say now that colours are not real at all. It simply is our brains way of differentiating light !!~xoxo
Thank you Tom for the interest in my posts !~
Phil...wonderful set and also the others you uploaded. I picked up a complete parure this weekend and was contemplating either selling it online or at an Antique show that we regularly attend. This is the first complete set that we have ever found. We have sold brooches, earrings and bracelets separately but never a set. We are Canadians....what do you think. We should do?
Thanks LOU, nice to see whatever comes along. think a lot of partial sets such as bracelet, earrings, and brooch are sold together. See most necklaces sold separate. Prob online is the way I might go as at times there are most collectors looking at ebay.
Thanks Phil! I’ll upload it to show it to CW members before I finally decide. Bob
This Sherman bracelet is stunning and the photography outstanding !! Such a joy to view. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you FreshAir, I appreciate your comment !~
I'm glad someone commented on this recently because this beauty reappeared on the list as a result! This is truly gorgeous. I'm so happy you own this precious piece and that it's back "home" in Canada now.
