I picked these two up at an estate sale for a couple bucks. The people hosting did not know what they were and said it might be garnet. Besides garnet or ruby is there any other stone it could be? If you look at up close pic, you can see some black inclusions.

It's a manufactured stone, but has been made for a long time! :^D
My wife says it might be Carnelian! :^)
