Over the weekend in Lebanon, Indiana they had an Advertising Ad show and a auction. I bought this at the Ad show on Sunday. A true antique! The lid and the amber jar are embossed and in great shape after all these years. I love collecting smoking memorabilia and this looks great sitting on the living room table. Thank you for stopping by and looking at my collection. Enjoy your day! :-)

Remember, patents only give a "no earlier than" date. They do not tell you when an item was made. It could be 125 years old, or it could be 90 years old.
They are used on many items well past their normal mark. For example, Coke bottles patented in 1923 have that patent until the later 1930s (I think until '38). My light-switch cover is from the '80s but has a 1946 patent. A clock I have was made in 1895-1896 (model) but has an 1870s patent. Apparently, Hemingray used one mould with an 1895 patent to make insulators into the 1940s. Even if the patent expired, if the mould was good or the company celebrated in its patent, they kept it on.
Awesome find Michael!!
