Hi all,
This bike has recently been added to our growing list of summer restoration projects. It was found in a dumpster during this year's spring clean-up, apparently someone no longer wanted it. The best we could do to collectively identify it is that it's probably from 1960s or 70s and that it's a "mini bike". Maybe a kit? I can't find any similar-looking bikes on the internet for reference. Does anyone know what this is and if it's of any value to speak of?
Thank you as always!
** Title updated- thank you George/Easternshorecolllector!
The value I think is the real fun you will have riding around in it, treasure !~
Awesome find Anna!! I remember wanting one of these so badly as a kid in the early 1970's.
Man what a cool find !! I can’t believe someone put that in a dumpster !!
Phil, can't agree with you more =))
Scott, thank you! Did you still get one?
Thomas, thank you for your appreciation and comment!
Trey, glad to see you again!! People put even crazier things in a dumpster (see my other post). Thank you for stopping by and sharing my husband's excitement LOL
Ken, thank you! No, it appears that the motor is completely gone and may need a new one, but maybe we do need to try...i'll post an update if it starts.
Many thanks to CW friends who stopped by and hit Loves:

Excellent Find! I Love the rear tire drag brake! lol
Very cool! looks like one of those custom pit bikes used in carnivals.
Did you ever find out what make and model the mini bike is.
Hi All, I guess I'm 2 years late to identify the bike for you. I was given exact same mine but it was 2 rusted rims a rusted frame and a loose old plastic tank. Took me almost 2 months to identify it before I restored it. It is a late 60's Bird Manufacturing Company - Nighthawk

You can tell by the wagon wheel spoke rims, the huge sprocket and the handlebars. Great dumpster find! Mine was given to me like it was Garbage but I restored it and still have. I love I and would never sell it.

Hi George/Easternshorecollector- Thank you so much for IDing this bike! I will update the title. It's still sitting in the garage waiting for its turn to be restored- too many projects, too little time! But it's so awesome to know what it is we have =)
To all CW friends- Happy New Year and best wishes! Hope it's a healthy and peaceful year for you and your loved ones, filled with many cool finds! I haven't been on CW in a long while and missed it greatly...hope that everyone is well! Happy collecting!
George, I forgot to mention, your restored bike looks amazing! I'm sure it was a very rewarding project =)
