How lucky I was on getting this one :-D
I bid on it, won, and only saw at moment to pay seller shipped US only...
I sent a message to the seller praying she agreed to send it to France... I had to pay 35$ for shipping... but all in one it is still a great bargain and... you know what.... I LOVE HIM ;-)
3cm or 1.1/4" long
Dating around 1890/1900.
A little enamel damage, kyratised!
Good for you Kyra, another sweet score........smiling

Well done Pascale, he is gorgeous! Thank goodness the seller would post to you.......what a heart stopping moment!!
MsCrystalShip, great to see you're exploring the fine jewelry section! ;-)
The beetle is around 1890/1900, Meyle & Mayer firm was founded in 1887 in Pforzheim.
Sweet Malkey, thank you for your fabilous and lovely comment, lots of thoughts to you, and love back!!!

Judy! Indeed it was... frightening, I even didn't dare look at it again before the seller answered! Thank you for your kind comment, love back to you :-))
I love it too, great find!
Love the colors especially the orange.
Marga! You're so rare now on CW, I hope all is well... I know you love these critters too! Thank you :-D
Wpj, many thanks for your lovely visit and kind comment!
I can see why you love him! Are those real ruby's as eyes??? It looks like it to me! And is that from the same maker as your other pin with the pearl in it??? I can't believe why shipping costs so much to you! That's really sad but I'm glad the seller did it for you. A friend of mine in Australia has things sent to me from US sellers that won't ship there. Sometimes he'll order a bunch and sometimes only one thing but however he wants to do it, I always send it to him. Of course, he pays for it but it's better than not getting it at all! That would not be a problem for me to do for you either. I know I'm not always on here but I'm always here. Make sense? haha
Oohh! That's so kind of you!!! I just checked and it doesn't seem I have your contact... neither Mary though I remember getting emails... E-mystery :-/
I have several pins of this maker, collection here:

For the eyes, it could be either glass... garnets or rubies... really too tiny to say, haha ;-)
Gorgeous creatures you and this bug are, incomparable beauty !~
Oh la la... thank you Phil for such compliments ;-)))
I am always jealous of your bugs, maybe that is what is bugging me !
Aww Phil, don't be jealous! You have such a beautiful collection of works of art :-D
Thank you for your wonderful comment!
