This vase surprised me as I bought it with the sole purpose to propose to CW posters of Bohemian art glass to post their most bizarre (ugliest) shaped piece on this page but ...... The shape is really pretty awesome as the execution of this piece took very talented craftsman to do it. It starts and finishes round in shape but in between is it hexagon in 6 different places with transitions. All of this done in a mere 6" in height and 2 1/2" in width. Again done with a white base color and predominantly orange splatter and cased in a clear outside layer. The decor has much to be desired in my humble opinion!!! It is not signed and the maker is unknown to me. So the challenge is still on folks!!!!!
This is far from ugly! :-)
Believe me, I have some totally insane Victorian art glass that completely defies taste & logic (but I love it all the more for that reason).
The internal hexagon form is most interesting looking down from above.
I don't find this ugly, but in keeping with other angular shapes that had their moment during the Art Deco period.....and not just in glass.
This is an intriguing shape - I posted one just like it about a year ago - https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/212728-unknown-deco-era-vase
Ignore my first impression - I currently have this vase displayed with a few other pieces made by Gebruder Funk of Germany and it seems to fit quite well, not that it is a definite attribution, but a maker to consider.
