I bought this rather retro ashtray this morning as it's a good solid piece of pottery, and I thought it would be perfect as a feeding dish for the hedgehogs who live in my garden. At the moment they tip up the dish I put out for them and it makes a right mess! The ashtray was made in the Surrey Pottery which started in 1956, and is sometimes known as the Grayshott pottery. This Ashtray looks 1960's in style to me.
Beautiful teal ashtray, one could play tic-tac-to or checkers on it - but I'm sure the hedgies will love it. I so envy you having them in your garden, they must be so cute!
Very nice AdeleC, a much better use, feeding Hedgehogs, then catching ashes! :^D I love what you wrote, it's right nice! :^)
Very nice design !~
I have added a picture of one of the hedgehogs. They usually don't come out in daylight, but this one came out a bit early to try out the new dish ( which is in the Lego feeding centre!).
Very nice of you to show! :^D Thank you so much! :^)
