Another recent addition to my menagerie is this glass bird sculpture from Multi Glass Japan. Very typical style for them; lovely crests, yellow and black eyes, well worked tails, internal colour, and a beautiful base.
They came in a huge bespoke plywood box, all padded. The label looks around 1970s to me.
Quite a large sculpture at 32cm wide and 28cm high.

Wow Karen, this is just gorgeous. The birds red crowns & milky white necks against those beautiful body colors on the crested wave is truly a fabulous creation. Would the birds be cranes I wonder

Thanks Jenni! I asked my Japanese friend what these were and she thought maybe a plover. When I checked the Northern Lapwing (plover) sorta looks like this, but hey, artistic licence and all may well be a crane.

Are these a flight of fancy or albatrosses on the crest of a wave? Albatrosses can live at sea and do frequent the Southern Oceans.......
Beautiful birds and an equally delightful sculpture!

Thomas, Sydney says hello, and it's finally winter now. Only got to 14C today, and we are having lovely rain after a 4 month drought.
      Thanks for loving and commenting!
