I know the Harpsichord Clearing House very very well--Glenn Guitari and his outfit up in Boston. I have been there many times.
Hello Carl! The instrument still looks stunning! Catch-up with me at the baroquestring, on facebook...
F. Jacob Kaeser, I have been to your facebook page. I have been to your website. Thank you for sharing those.
I am in awe of your skills. It is easy to admire a Renoir or a Pavarotti concert. Your work, crafsmanship, art, is no less worthy.
Jake is very very well-known as one of the best master of key and jack construction for harpsichords. No less than Peter Redstone of Williamsburg Virginia speaks only that Jake is the very best !
My most favorite statement Jake has told me: "I build these instruments and do not consider myself a player---my hands are much too cut up & damaged for that !" This is one of the best reasons I leave the building to masters like him & he leaves the performing to people like myself !
It is a privelege to have you both here!
I am just north of Charlotte. Tell me when your next concert is and I will try to make it.
I am to do an art opening in Myers Park for Louis Saint Lewis this fall. I also have an old 1974-ish Zuckermann slab-side case that I am giving to Louis to create into an art piece in what-ever style he chooses. That will be quite fun ! Here is the site where I will be performing with about three rooms of L St. L paintings, sculptures & constructions: http://www.allisonsprockfineart.com/
"Louis St. Lewis' celebrated mixed-media collages are frequently based on the intersection of mythology and religion. Andy Warhol commented that Louis’s work was “like Hieronymus Bosch meets MTV!” With over 30 national and international solo exhibitions to his credit, Louis’s creations are in the collections of such notables as HRH The Prince of Kuwait, Christian LaCroix, André Leon Talley and Oprah Winfrey. His artwork is also found in numerous museum collections, including the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Morris Museum and the Masur Museum. This fall, Louis teams up with Sean Yseult, artist and female bass player of White Zombie fame, for a collaborative show, “Pretty Babies,” at New Orleans’ Canary Gallery."
