Here is my entire collection of three handle vases... I think 81 but I'm trying to stop for the same of my marriage-
I wanted to show the color variations that you can find in three handle vases and bowls. as a tidbit of information I have noticed at least four kinds of pontil marks- Flat ground, quarter size, dime size and a pontil that extends across the entire bottom of the vase.
2. In the white series sometimes you see a subtle contrast in opacity or hue. the Goofy handled/footed bowl is light pink. Almost all the whites are enameled- I have only seen one that was not.
3. The Ivory colors can vary in hue (cream or celery). The white looking cameo carved are usually Ivory not white.
4. The Yellows range from Lemon, Yellow, and gold- I wont get into the German names to keep it simple but those in the know can chime in at any point. suffice it to say the yellows work seamlessly into reds with many hues and shades along the way. I will say I have seen a variation of yellows where the color is cased on the inside but not on the outside (maybe an accident?) when the color is cased it looks richer and brighter; Usually the smaller the piece the thicker the crystal casing is
I know absolutely nothing about glass, but your collection is really beautiful and very colorful. Nice job on displaying too.
Yeah, I'm trying to make this stuff the new Fiesta ware...
What an Amazing Collection !!!
Wow! Beauty.
Just 12 years, I attended the Czech collectors convention and received so much information (and mis-information) very quickly - how I wish we had a Collectirs Weekly back then.... all the bad pieces I would not have bought!
Astonishing array. Thanks for posting. My favourites are the cameo on ivory - pic 3.
Gorgeous collection of vases!!
