    Collectabl…
    (310 items)

We now know through detective work this beauty is resin but I didn't pick up the signatures.
The 3rd and forth photos show what looks to be PJ BUTT and TAWNY possibly. May make a difference in value ? Neil

Hey Neil, it's hard to tell, but to me it looks like it could be a pressed wood, or resin mold piece. It looks very nice though! :^)

I think it's molded resin. If you look closely in the crevices, x2 magnification, you can see bubbles. I don't know how interested you are in seeing how these bubbles are formed. The good bit comes at the end when the castings are finished.

I am now not sure if it's wood, china or resin. So it doesn't scratch so its not wood, It's still in one piece so its not china so Gillian(I did look at your link) and Newfld you are right. I am disappointed but educated. Thanks guys. Neil

You're welcome Neil, I see a lot of the resin pieces, and get fooled every once in a while. I do like the look of it though, it's just a lot of the time, it's used to deceive, and that's when you have to be careful, with how much you're paying! It's being used to make Scrimshaw Whale tooth pieces, and look just like the real thing, until you look at the bottom, where it would've been cut off, and you can see the tiny bubbles, that give it away, so if it's on a stand, it's buyer beware! {:^} Thanks for posting, because we can all learn, and thanks to Gillian for the links! :^)

Dont know how I missed it but it is signed. That probably doesn't make any difference but I m sure you will let me know. I'll post a new photo as I cannot make the signature out. Neil
