Well I guess this it for my trusted 1 quart stainless steel Thermos Bottle. I had to retire him, put him to pasture, it was a hard 48yrs. but I had to, just let him go! :^(
Yep, the other day my wife came in, and handed me a bag, and said, Open it! When I did I saw a brand new Stainless Steel Thermos Bottle. I looked at her and said, thank you, in a questionable tone, and then What do I need this for? she said It's 40 ounces, you can put your coffee in it, and get that old one off the kitchen counter! There's nothing wrong with it, I said, and this one is probably made in China, as we both looked at the bottom of the bottle, and sure enough, Thermos, was now making, my Stainless Steel Thermos in China! How would I know any different, I haven't bought one in over 40years, in fact I never did buy one, I got mine from my Father, after my Mother bought him a new one, to replace the old one that he got in 1970, for his 55th Birthday, that replaced, his old Thermos, Thermal Glass Bottle that kept getting broken, on the Tug Boat that he was Capt. of, and since I had just become a Carpenter Apprentice, they thought that I could use the old one, at work! I could, and did, for another 33years, until I retired, and put the Thermos to work, on the counter in our kitchen, by the coffee maker, to keep the coffee hot, until I, or someone wanted a cup of coffee! That all changed today, the New made in China 40oz Stainless Steel Thermos Bottle, is now on the counter! Hmmm! I guess now we'll have to get a new Kitchen, to go with the Thermos Bottle! :^D
The New 40oz Thermos, My old 1970 1qt Thermos, and the 1977 1qt Thermos, that I inherited, after both my Father in 1989, and Mother in 2014 passed. The 16oz Thermos Travel Mug, that I keep with me, 24-7, is in the back! The Stainless Steel Tubing Handle, I got on a Shell Refinery Flexi-Coker Unit job in 1980, a Steamfitter, that made it, tossed it because it wasn't good enough for him . . . worked fine for me! :^D

Thank you for looking, and thanks to SpiritBear, for posting his antique Soup Jug, that inspired this post! All comments welcome! :^)
