This is one of those pieces which seems where there is some confusion over it being a strainer or a ladle. Thus it is a strainer ladle. Probably for soup. Also it is probably over 100 years old but possibly not. Anyway it is close to that.
At 14" long it is my longest and largest enamelware/graniteware utensil. See photo 4 for exciting details.
This one has been bent. I pondered bending it back but remembered that enamelware is actually glass and will break. When it got bent it must have been rather hot. Thus the coating did not crack which is why the rust spots appear on enamelware and graniteware. Which reminds me I just picked up a boxed set of Mendits for repairing porcelain covered pieces. Hopefully I can find it.
