Lata posted a Mercedes so I figured that would go well with Matchbox Monday. As Monday is the day for Matchbox Model posts.
I am not sure if this car goes with this box. I may have the proper car stored elsewhere. The box is the E Style made in 1968 but the car should be green or it should be an F box. The model was first issued in green in 1968 and in this blue color in 1969. The model was also issued with the Car Transporter Gift Set which is where I snagged the car. The car has some roof wear from being carried in the Transporter Gift Set box. I replaced the models that came with that set due to the wear.
Back to this model it has opening doors and a trunk. Most models would have just one of those features.
Next week will be the Car Transporter Gift Set. It is a great set so be here for next Matchbox Monday.
Amazing detail on this mini Mercedes, great photo of the trunk & doors opened, excellent design
This must be a Euro model 300, because I recall the US models had double stacked round headlights instead of the single arched ones. I may be wrong, but I had a 220 from this era and it seemed that all US models had those lights - something to do with some law?
Anyway, awesome model, and a boat size coupe!
Thank you very much Newfld. All nice features.
Thank you very much racer4four. US cars had all sorts of headlight configurations. Most of my cars had the dual purpose low beam high beam headlights. Probably is a Euro version with Matchbox made in England.
I was thinking the same thing about the coupe.
Thank you
