Here are two pieces of Loetz tango from the 1920’s
The first is a red fan vase with thorny pull-up rim and a hand-applied thread resembling a spiderweb. The foot is tooled and spread in an organic way. These vases come from the period when Edward Prochaska ran the Loetz company. These are some of my favorite tango pieces because it combines the Deco style (Color) with a whimsical naturalistic style (shape)
The second piece is more deco with excessive proportions. I realy like when tango goes over the edge of what is considered a balanced form. The color combination is rare for its use of pink with cobalt (instead of the usual light blue) . Thank you - jm
Love the pink with cobalt blue!!! :)
