I picked this bowl up for a few dollars at an antique store. I had no idea what is was but, after over two hours of searching, I believe that I discovered what it actually is at the following website: http://www.thepirateslair.com/international-naval-china-and-tableware-of-the-world/peoples-republic-of-china-navy.html
These items sell for a few-hundred dollars on this site.
The mystery is what does this say??? I am sure that it is either the name of a ship and perhaps the regiment?
From the site:
Authentic Communist Peoples Republic of China, Communist Chinese Navy, or Peoples Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) Mess Cups, Mess Plates, and Trays from 1960s to Present Day 2014. Named and Marked. These Cups and Plates Were Used by The Peoples Republic of China Navy and are Vintage to the Earliest Days of the Vietnam War, Thru the Cold War, and Present Day.
Thank you, wma, for the great information!!!
