Although I don't own the oil painting in this post, I bid hard for it when it was up for auction, and sure wish I had won it! ;) As a serious Rindskopf collector with over 50 pieces of their work, I would have loved to have this painting hanging in my home. But I still wanted to share the auction pictures with you all because I think it is a fascinating painting. It features what is clearly an iridescent Rindskopf crackle vase; the artist captured the rainbow colors of it very well. Image three shows an actual example of a vase in the same shape and decor, c. 1905. I love finding old post cards and paintings that feature Bohemian glass and how it was used at the time!
Michelle I was one of bidder too on this fabulous painting, in addition to love Art work, I would appreciate this hanging beside my Rindskolf showcase.
Today I realize I should bid way more for it.
A most interesting post, Michelle, but so disappointing......
Fabulous post. I love these comparisons. (Such a shame you didn't get it.) Your Rindskopf posts continue to educate me.

Thank you Alain & sklo; yes, a pity to lose, but the shipping from the UK was very expensive, and I try to be careful with my spending. I still wanted to share the wonderful painting, though! :)
Thanks so much, Wow; I am so glad to hear that. And thanks for reminding me about Jericho's post, too - that is an amazing Kralik! :)
how interesting
