Love these old accessories, the ring was meant to wear on a finger while you held the small metal purse in your hand. It is about 5 inches long. The exterior has a gold and silver wash over copper.
The motif are typical Japanese impressed designs, such as Mount Fuji, the Buddhist dragon, a sacred temple, etc.
The interior is finished with a mat black enamel, also found inside old Japanese cigarette cases of this period - early 20th century. One side has an elastic to hold the cigarettes, the other has a small removable frame to insert a photo, a closed rouge or other make up compartment, and two coin slots which have a spring to press them in.
