    TassieDevil
    (175 items)

    Hello everyone.

Found this yesterday at the market for $20.00.
I am guessing it is non magnetic rainbow hematite.
There are 6 pieces all together:
A single strand necklace (which has been re-strung the seller said).
    A five strand necklace.
    A memory wire bracelet.
    A ring....not adjustable.
    A brooch.
A pair of screw on earrings.
Most of the fittings are quite badly degraded, verdigris, but the beads themselves look pretty good.

The box is in great shape, guessing again being the original as everything seems to fit properly as far as I can tell.
The box is marked with what looks like "FUJI TOKYO" but I have not been able to find out anything about this. Looks 50/60s to me.......

The pictures are not the best......the colour hasn't really shown properly.

Any comments, confirmations or information would be much appreciated on this set. Thanks very much, Judy

Thanks Val, I was really surprised to see it because I have not come across anything like this before either!! So for $20.00 I had to have it........would probably pay more just for the empty box!! :-)

Wow.... fit for a Queen....Nice find.

I need a Tassie flea market...this would have been 5x that in Sydney.
Gorgeous stuff Judy. The box is such a bonus.
Is it stone or glass? I don't know much about Japanese jewellery so I'm just wondering did they use haemetite.
    4. TassieDevil TassieDevil, 8 years ago
Thanks for the great comment Roycroft!! Really appreciated!!

Hey Karen, thanks.....I have googled most of today for these beads and I give up!! So much conflicting information........pretty sure they are man made with??? can't find the answer for that.....and with coating on them!!!
They are lightweight, so not glass, and not cold, so not stone. Goodness knows what the core is....plastic I suppose??

They remind me of the Christmas tree glass ball ornaments!! So, in other words...I really have no idea LOL!! Thanks for liking them and the box is a bonus for sure!!

Wow, what a parure, Judy! I love the pink metallic shades of the beads even if you say that the pictures don't convey the texture one can still get a good idea of what they look and feel like in the flesh. I so would loooooove to wear that five strand necklace!! :-o (sorry I can't help much about the material)....
    7. TassieDevil TassieDevil, 8 years ago
Thanks Bijou....it is a bit flash isn't it!!! I can only see myself wearing the single strand, I think that will do me lol.....that 5 strand would look spectacular on you for sure!!! :-)
Isn't it funny, as soon as I saw the set I was thinking to myself "Yay....I know what this is"!!!! WRONG!! Not as easy as I thought to identify......oh well!!

What a find! I've seen some pieces on Ruby Lane and Ebay made by Fuji Pearl Company Ginza Tokyo Japan. Maybe?

Hello Bananapeel, thank you very much!
Yes I had seen pieces by the Fuji Pearl Company and wondered if there was a connection! I don't think there is......this is really just a costume set.....and no way near the quality of Fuji Pearls.
Thanks for the help though, really appreciated, and has made me think to head off in a different direction from Rainbow Hematite Beads to Rainbow Faux Pearls......see where that takes me, if anywhere lol. Thanks again :-)

Hi Rose, thank you and always appreciate the love!!
    23. bananapeel, 8 years ago
No, they don't really look like cultured pearls. do they. Too bad. Maybe there was a company that made less expensive "Fuji" jewelry for people who couldn't afford pearls. Still very pretty.
    24. TassieDevil TassieDevil, 8 years ago
Thanks Bananapeel, you are probably right.....never mind, I am still just happy with having a boxed set!! :-)

Don't know how trustworthy the link is but it can get your detective work started....
    49. TassieDevil TassieDevil, 6 years ago
      Hi Elisabethan, thank you!
I researched when I first posted this set and saw your link as well. This set is really just costume jewellery, most certainly not cultured pearls! I am pretty sure that Fuji Tokyo, which is on my box, is not the same company as Fuji Pearl Company.
I am actually thinking now that these necklaces etc of mine might be AB, iridescent or carnival glass ........I will put a link for you, what do you think?

Sorry I am late answering you. I only just went in her again and saw your question. Ok I see. I have no knowledge in pearls and I am learning about beads so I really don't have an answer. But I see what you are saying. Yours still look like quality to me pearls or no pearls :) If it's glass the standard is much higher than the AB in the link.
      Look at this link:

      Looks similar?
    54. Elisabethan Elisabethan, 6 years ago
Here is another example. I think you are right. If it is not pearls then it is probably some type of artglass beads.

Thanks Elisabethan, I find it very difficult to id beads or gems or any kind of stones, so I usually just go with "probably glass" lol:-)
It is annoying with these beads though having the look of carnival glass, but not the weight! I might just have to break one bead open one day and see what the inside is like......thanks for taking an interest, and for the love, very much appreciated :-)
