I was out Saturday in Kirkland, Indiana and came across this nice old wooden cash recorder. Not too bad of shape for as old as it is. I got it home and scrubbed and scrubbed on it. I believe it’s out of the late 1890s. National Cash Register was invented about that time and was a much better machine so these just went away. It has one drawer that opens and it also has a top sign or a decorative rail. I’ve seen a few others in my day but never with the top side or the decorative rail. I’m happy to add it to my collection and it goes well in my 1920s house. I’ve decorated it with some of my collectibles and I love how it displays as you walk in the room.

Nice Find ......Michael
Interesting piece for sure Michael, I'm sure considered "high tech" at the time. Had not seen one before. Thanks for sharing.
