This is a greyish mauve colour and thus the oddest Tango glass colourway I've seen. I've had several attempts to capture the colour but to no avail......it still comes out grey!

Love this muted colour! Interestingly, I've also seen an identical greyish - mauve glass used for beads & buckles from the same era.
I had a vase just like this in a dull blue but sold it a few years back during the great purge...
I have the exact same vase. I gave up trying to get a picture, they just never came out right. I do agree that the color is brighter and more of a lavender mauve in real life than any picture I took or have seen. I keep it to the front of my Tango case because it seems to change color a little with sunlight or lamplight.

Hi, IronLace, It was interesting to learn there are further examples of this shade of glass from the period. I myself have a rose bowl with frog from the period, but it is even greyer, perhaps because the glass is thicker!
jimtim, your input is equally interesting. I thought perhaps the sensor in my camera was failing and I'd soon need to buy another camera. I'll keep an eye on mine to see if I spot any colour changes.

It may just be that for an amateur like me mauve is a difficult colour. That's my excuse anyway. Glad you like it though :)
In Loetz tango violet seems to gravitate towards gray. it must have something to do with the cobalt offsetting the color. Interesting to me this tango is opaque and not cased or opal in any way, very striking and different
