Although I do enjoy a lot of the glass designed by Curt Schlevogt, and Heinrich Hoffmann, I don't per se collect it. That said, I have over the years managed to put together a small collection of Ingrid glass either acquiring inexpensive or rare and/or unique pieces. This being the latter for sure! A black glass dual tray jewelry box, with gold gilt ormolu metal work, adorned by an impressive little Buddha statue. It's a beautiful Asian inspired design, and each black glass jewelry tray is signed with the Hoffmann butterfly.
I acquired the larger Schlevogt Ingrid glass Buddha from an old glass collection back east years ago, along with a few other pieces of Ingrid glass.
Whether this was designed by Hoffmann for Schlevogt, or it was sold via another venue is unknown. I attended a wonderful exhibition in Jablonec nad Nisou in 2012 that featured Hoffmann and Schlevogt glass, and I didn't see this piece when I went through the exhibition photos. I'll check the exhibition book I purchased at the exhibition, although as I recall it was all the same pieces that were in the exhibition.
Sweet jewelry box! The Buddha not too shabby either. :)
If I count the art nouveau decanter set, I'm up to about a dozen pieces of Schlevogt Ingrid glass, this is the first piece of black glass from that genera of glass. The real McCoy was nice quality work, akin to Lalique.
Eleon von Rommel, 8 inch mould probably , the recast this after the war, hard to say if it is real, still cute
