I need some information on this Flea Market find of today 8/4/2018, it's an antique miniature water color of Tribal Painted Feet in a metal framed pendant, with a hand written "India" on the tag on back of it. It's 1 3/4"wide x 1 1/2"high x 1/4"thick, with clear glass on the front, and all metal back.
I got this first because it caught my eye with the colors, but then caught my interest with the subject, and then why was it made into a pendant? It looks like writing, or numbers of some kind, on the very top of the painting, the "India" has got me, because the Feet look Tribal African, but maybe Hindu, or other, even Australian Aboriginal? I'm so confused! &:^} Please help! :^D
Thanks for looking, all comments are welcome, and any information is appreciated! :^)
Thanks for the love dlpetersen, always good to get! :^)
Easy ! This is an ancient 911 call. "I have cut my foot and need an ambulance". The top symbols are the area code & the bottom symbols are the address. No thanks are necessary.
bb2 was here, and had the answer! :^D Thanks for your comment! :^)
Thank you for stopping by for a look, and for the loves,

Very cute & colorful
Hi Jenni, this is cute, but I hope someone can help, with what it is, unless all it is, is a miniature painting in a metal frame pendant! :^D Thanks so much for your comment! :^)
Thank you all for looking, and for loving what you saw,

Thank you much #1 Mary, for the love you gave! :^)
WOW! Unique piece, I also think it's Indian, before I read the label, it is probably symbolic of something, with the henna decorations on the feet and the message in white on top. It reminded me that painting designs on hands is an East Indian art, woman like to have it done for special occasions and the bride for her wedding.
This is why I love CW, always something new. Here is a wiki link that explains it better than I can.

Thank you for your thoughts, and the link truthordare, that could explain markings on the feet, but why was it made into a pendant, for good luck, or just fun! :^D
Thanks for the love too! :^)
Thanks Bill, your guess is as good as mine, sure it had a meaning, a bit bulky to wear around the neck, maybe had another function.
Here's a link to a Pinterest site that has miniature paintings from India:

This tradition of painting is centuries old, and maybe mine is too! :^)

Hey Vynil33rpm, good to see ya stop by! :^D
Thanks for the love! :^)
I enjoyed your links Bill, just shows how much we don't know or understand about a lot of other old cultures. Would rather learn about that, than listen to the endless political dramas..... lol
Thanks again Lisa(t o d), for your comment, that's one of the things that I like about CW, not just the collections, but all the information that we all gain from this Site! :^)
