A recent acquisition from a collector friend who is 'down-sizing' (it was in his collection for over twenty years). This vase is 30 cm (12'') tall and 12 cm (4.75'') in diameter at the base. It has been described as 'modified snakeskin' due to its corrugated exterior with red and white splashes over a green base, and passing resemblance to Kralik 'snakeskin'. A similar example can be seen in the Fritz Heckert room at Passau in cabinet 27, 3rd shelf (see fourth photo). That vase was previously described as 'unbekkant' (unknown maker) in the Passau Museum Catalogue Band IV.414 on Page 231.
    Enjoy.

Thanks for the compliments. Must say I love the 'feel' of this piece. Hard to capture on camera but the irridescence allows the green to shine like gold in the right light. Otto Thamm at his best !

This is just a beauty - what a pleasure it must be to have it in your collection! When I do see this unusual decor, it is often incorrectly attributed to Rindskopf, and it is so nice to see it correctly ID'd here. :)

Yes, I know a post from Bambus. But again, nothing convinces me that this is Heckert. I think it's Rindskopf or Kralik.
