The Saturday Evening Scout Post Garters, Tassels and Knee Socks

Sneak preview of my next scout project as promised. Once again thanks to Bill the retired collector for the garters with tassels. These are from about 1970 but were used back in the 1950s and possibly earlier. These were used along with the knee socks which are rather long.
The knee socks and tassels were worn with shorts, would not be much sense to wear them with longs. As I have mentioned before shorts were a hard sell with boy scouts until the late 1970s. Some camps required the shorts which weren't as short as those circa 1980. I believe the earlier requirement was no more than two inches above the knee.
Just need to attach a few patches and the circa 1960 summer uniform will be ready. Not a problem thanks to Badge Magic! Which is good because I am too lazy to sew.
