Old iron weighing about 10 pounds. Does anyone know about how old it is or anything else about it? Thank you.

Looks like a goose iron often used by tailors.

Thanks. I read or heard somewhere else that it may be a tailors iron. Any idea how old it may be?

It's probably mid to late 1800's, there's lots on line. Search Goose, or Tailors Iron, on image, or for sale! :^)

Hitching iron is my thought. Carried in a wagon to tie the horses to when you stopped. Took the place of a hitching post.
