Found this in a lot of cameras I bought the other day and I can't find a single mention of it anywhere online. It's nearly a foot tall and weigh at least 5 pounds. It has rails on the back that I can fit a 4x5 film holder but the hole in the body isn't nearly that big. If anyone has more information on it I'd love to learn more about it.

I don't have a Macvan advert in my catalogue library but there are many online references for other models. The "70" on the face of your camera means it is made for the 70mm roll film back. So what you have is the body without the 70mm back. Anyhow, I did see an online link to Popular Photography magazines that had Macvan advertisements from 1948 - 1951 … I lost track of the link. Regardless, these were made in 4x5 and 5x7 inch formats.
