    Is it a candy dish? It is china and fragile! The gold trim actually looks real. It is about 12 inches wide and 8 inches tall. Handpainted.

      Very pretty! Maybe a covered compote, since it's so large? It looks as if it has a signature on the lower right of the flowers. I have seen several pieces marked like this. Some described as being marked "PAUL'S" and the other "PAULIS".
