A large pair of opaline glass vases, made by the Compagnie des Verreries et Cristalleries de Baccarat around 1880, which I owned fleetingly.... bought one week, sold the next to a Japanese buyer. I'm listing them here as a general reference and to link to Michelle's pieces, where she provides much more detail of these very beautiful vases. My wife liked these, but complains I have too many vases for her to appreciate them all, so I had to let them go....... didn't I?

WoWzA !!!!!
These are really outstanding!!
beautiful examples of Japonisme glass, thank you for sharing! did they have Baccarat acid stamps, or other marks on bottom?
No marks on these at all.
No! Phil you didn’t have to let them go!! You could have let your lovely wife choose something else to let go of! But then, I suspect (with your beautiful collection) She may have chosen a piece or two that you could never part with! These are particularly wonderful pieces though!
You're right, I could have kept them - although I really appreciate them, they're just not my thing really.
What a beautiful pair, Phil - thanks for sharing them! :)
what a great find
