I bought this in Victoria, Australia in the 1980's at an estate sale. After twenty years of it traveling the world with me, I am trying to date it. I live in the USA but have managed to track down the Australian relatives of the family members listed. They don't know much about the trunk, but believe it may belong to the brother of the listed person. The brother served with the RAAF during WW2. Questions: is this the type of trunk that military guys took with them when being sent overseas? Or, the airman died in 1943, perhaps this belonged to the deceased airman's wife who would have had to send her husband's effects home to Australia and she used this trunk to do that. Her family traveled a lot -- I have researched them --and maybe this was part of her possessions. I'm trying to understand if the trunk belonged to the airman, or his wife's family who travels the world plenty between 1900's and 1940's. Thanks!
Your trunk is a travel trunk and has nothing to do with the military. Probably made in the 1920's. Hope this helps,
Jim
