Came across this Egyptian stone head, I believe of pharaoh AKhenaten. Looks very old, but how old?
I been told that it could be tourist piece made in late 19th century for rich English tourists.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you

Nicely done and I am curious. The "step" in the top front of the head looks sawn & a place patched.

It looks fairly new and made of Resin. They fool a lot of people.

Thanks for the comments...step up .cut up front is hard to explain, seems like it is little patch.
It is made out of stone, could be sandstone and not resin.

If I should turn out to be an authentic ancient Egyptian artifact, the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities would be interested. The government is passionate about getting back historic item removed from Egypt in the past. NBC news had a program a few years ago about Egypt demanding that museums in several countries return items that Egypt considers stolen.
So it's a beautiful thing that you have- the surface does look like the real thing but good fakes are meant to deceive even the experts. You could take advantage of the appraisal service offered on this site.
But if it turned out to be real, Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities will be calling.......
