Found at Goodwill today for a buck and change, it was apparently the bottom of a 1950's AVON ladies face powder jar that first came with a sorta overly (and not particularly matching nor attractive, but maybe that's just me?) decorated lid with the powderpuff/etc inside, all that now long gone but it still has its "PERSIAN WOOD BEAUTY DUST" label on its underside. [googling that will easily find plenty of other pics]
It is made of clear glass, with its exterior matte red color being an outer coating of some kind. There's a nifty little 'swoosh' pattern molded into it on each side, it is roughly 6" across its top. No actual maker's marks visible to suggest who made the glass itself.
Tomorrow morning (after it getting washed with the nightly dinner dishes this evening) it will become kitty's new water dish -- it much more matches my kitchen than his current cute (but contemporary, and not terribly interesting) ceramic one. I doubt he'll care about the change one way or the other, but *I'll* like it a whole lot more...?? <lol>
THANKS SO MUCH to fortapache, Newfld, Caperkid, kwqd, Brunswick, elanski, gargoylecollector, & aura fir stopping by and tapping the <love it> button!!
