One of those items that needs two descriptions again. One for the actual vehicle and one for the model.
The Saracen was made by Alvis from 1952-1976. That is a pretty long time for a military vehicle. Plus it was in service until 1992. The Saracen was an armored personnel carrier, the armor was bullet proof and artillery fragment proof at just over a half inch think. The idea was that infantry would happily ride inside into battle. Nine infantry men could be carried inside. But they always end up being used for the turret with a 7.62mm machine gun. Although during The Troubles in North Ireland it probably did carry troops.
OK on to the model. This was the first MB-54 and made from 1958-1964. I do not know of any variations of this model aside from boxes. As this one had no box this one can not be narrowed down.
In the meantime I picked up a bunch of new die cast cars at the Route 66 cr show. They may be new but they are really neat so as usual stay tuned to this web site!
