I found this Victorian Bristol Glass look Hand Vase at the Flea Market this morning 9/30/18. I call it Bristol look because, this type and look of glass was made by many Glass Makers, in England, Czech-Slovakia, other European Countries, and also United States, and Japan. The Hand Painted Enameled, and Gilded Blown Molded Glass, in Frosted, Milk, and other Colors of Glass, was popular in the 1880's-1920's, and beyond. Pieces similar were made, by Art Glass Companies like Fenton Glass in the U.S., and others around the World.
The Frosted Glass Hand, holding a Cornucopia shaped Vase is 9 1/2" tall, 4" across the Blue Glass, Ruffled(ribbon candy) top, and 3"x 2 1/2" oval rough pontil base, is Enameled, and Gilded on the patterned, flowers, and dots designed surface. The Vase has no makers marks of any kind.
Thank you for looking, any information, or confirmation, on who, or where, this Glass Vase was made is appreciated, and all comments are welcome! :^)
Thanks to IronLace this is a Victorian era Hand Vase..."it's Bohemian" ! ! ! :^)
Pretty vase Bill, really love the blue ruffled top
Nice Victorian era hand vase...it's Bohemian in origin. I have a collection of hand vases that consists of around 200 examples.
BTW, Fenton did make glass hand vases but have ceased production of all art glass since 2011. They now produce "Pandora" style glass beads & some outsourced glass items that are marked with the Fenton logo but not made in the original Fenton factory, which has been demolished.
Thank you Jenni, of course it's that Blue Ruffle that caught my eye, and then I saw that it was a Hand Vase too, and had to get it! :^D
Oh IronLace, I'm so glad that you saw this, I knew that you had a collection of Hand Vases, didn't realize around 200! WOW! Thanks so much for the information, I looked on line, but most of them had no information about them. I get in a hurry when I find things, and post them, so go for the quick internet search, and what I remember, instead of going to my many books, lazy in my old age I guess! :^D
Much thanks to all of you, for taking a look, and giving a love,
