Perhaps he is not our favorite animal in life, but in jewelry this little fellow is a heart stealer! He is 1 1-2" with streaky black enamel body on goldtone, and pave rhinestones along his head, back, bushy tail & both eyes. By Marcel Boucher, item #8868P. This skunk either came in the streaky black or all goldtone body, I think the black is more realistic for my Pepe LePew (an old time cartoon skunk for those not familiar)

It's not often you see a skunk brooch- they don't seem to be creatures ever portrayed as positive or even pretty! He's very unusual!

Aw Jenni, he is a gorgeous little skunk! Oh yes I loved Pepe LePew too lol:))

This baby Pepe is so cute at this stage and hope he always pleases you as he should !~

Thanks Lauren, it's true skunks get a bad rap because of their odorous self defense behavior, but they seem to make funny cartoons - remember in 101 Dalmations, Cruella had "skunk hair" lol, plus as I mentioned Pepe LePew, you should check out his old cartoons on the 'net! Appreciate your thoughtful comment

Right Ken, I love almost everything by Boucher esp his figurals, he was so stylish I think he formerly worked at Cartier. Many thanks for liking this lil fella, I appreciate it

Judy thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed Pepe LePew as a kid too, those cartoons were such fun - he was always catching the girl but she slipped away! :)

Thank you MrsT for the great comment and enjoying the cuteness!

Eileen yes this is a very non-serious brooch, it's good to have some fun and have people try to guess the animal, my husband couldn't do it lol! Oh wasn't it a blast when Pepe would grab the girl (I always thought she was another skunk, then googled some cartoons to find it's a cat as you said), he would yell "dahling!" and she would slip thru his fingers. They are calling the cartoon sexist today, as kids we just saw the funny

Thanks Phil, yes I do enjoy this pin, he's quite the curiosity, thanks for the great compliment

Very grateful for the love all

I like this pin. I like skunks, too! They are very social animals and if you are careful not to startle them they won't spray. I usually have one or two around the yard and never had an issue with one. I think they eat from my bird feeder with they rabbits and raccoons.

Thanks Tigra for the really nice compliment, so glad you liked this

Kevin it's so true, skunks get dissed all the time as smelly, but that only happens when they get scared - I think they look kinda cute but have only seen them on TV, so cool they eat at your feeder with the other animals. Thank you for the super comment

      Many thanks for the love

Hey Jenni what a cute little Skunk Brooch, it almost looks like fur on it's body! :^)
    12. Newfld Newfld, 6 years ago
You know Bill I think you've solved the mystery of why they brush painted the black enamel on his body, to look more like fur! I love it when a fresh pair of eyes sees something new, thank you so much, also for the kind compliment & love which are really appreciated

Many thanks aura for your love & wonderful support, it means so much to me

Wasn't Pepe hilarious Mary, I especially loved his pseudo French accent & silly romantic lines like "you're the peanut to my brittle." You know, I never remember hearing the cat answer him, just bolt away! Thanks so much for the sweet comment & love

Thanks so much for the love Lisa, it's always appreciated & glad you enjoyed this

lol... got out of the car yesterday to click a picture and all you could smell was skunkkkkkk, cute kitte fella jenni...
    15. Newfld Newfld, 6 years ago
Thanks Roycroft, oh yes therein lies the problem with this animal, when they release their "bomb"(lol) it is pungent! My sister in law & family are RV travelers, and many a time the underside of their vehicle has been skunked & it's none too pleasant. Appreciate the smile, compliment & the love

Thank you buckethead for the very kind love & thoughtfulness, it means so much to me & I am so grateful

Lol Rose, my little Mr Stinky thanks you for the cute comment and love! It's such fun when I wear this, the reactions I get, such as 'you really LIKE skunks?' I say sure, the jewelry kind!

Thanks themuse for the love, I'm really glad you liked my skunk and appreciate the thoughtfulness
    24. buckethead, 6 years ago
Very Nice! It's interesting to note that the skunk is in the same family as the Sunda "stink badger" that lives on the western islands of the Malay Archipelago: Sumatra, Java, Borneo. Quite the distant cousin :)
    25. Newfld Newfld, 6 years ago
Thanks buckethead for the super info about skunks, I always thought they resembled badgers & now I know! Even those have a "stink" variety lol. Great comment & much appreciated love
