*Per Ancient Bottle Discussion with SpiritBear

This bottle came from an estate sale of a retiring archaeologist. It was my lucky day as I've always wanted a Roman bottle and the seller of the estate was giving deep discounts (it was a very hot humid day and he obviously wanted to wrap up and get out) so we got a bunch of really cool stuff for practically nothing.
This bottle came with a note "Roman Glass Ancient Judea 1st Century AD". It definitely has a very old feel to it, but i have no way of knowing if the age determined is accurate. If anyone has anything else to add, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you for stopping by and looking!

Looks to have been mold-blown, putting it at the late first century A.D. and into the third. This began to become popular around 70 A.D., and light coloured glasses (seeking clear) became popular around that time as well.
It is a Roman unguentarium, though these are often falsely called "tear catchers" by many collectors and sellers. That is a Romanticised idea. This probably held an expensive scented oil.
      Looks completely real to me.

Spirit, as always, thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge. And I also learned a new word! unguentarium....Now I need to practice its pronunciation =)))

All I know is from reading, so I myself am not terribly sure on its pronunciation, but I'm guessing:
      un-junt-air-ee-um.

      Bracken3- thank you!
Spirit, i think you got it absolutely correct, it's still a hard one to remember L:oL
