This radio has been in our family since the late 1950s. My brothers used to listen to it at night and log the radio stations they were able to reach. We live in Milwaukee, WI, so you wouldn't believe the excitement they felt one night when they picked up a station in Texas. A sticker on the back describes the radio as a 'Magic Voice' and has connections in the back suggesting to add a Model R-93 record player for a fine addition to the radio. The radio has the old tubes but it has been in my basement since the mid 1976 and I couldn't get it to turn on. The electric cord needs to be replaced and I'm not sure if the tubes need to warm up to get the radio going or if they need replacement. I do know that it did work when I received it. I would like to know if there is any way to get more information about this radio as far as year it was produced, etc. Any info would be appreciated. I am sorry that this is all the information I have.
need a model #
It Victor Model 7K1 with magic eye? sold for $69.95

If you want a lot more information on this radio I suggest that you go on the Antique Radio Forum ,,sign up [it costs nothing] Those guys have all the information on every radio made and they can tell you where to get the schematics for it,if you want to get it restored. It is the best radio forum that I know of
I HAD THIS SAME RADIO BACK IN THE EARLY 80'S MY UNCLE HAD LEFT IT TO ME IN HIS WILL. WHEN I WAS A CHILD ID STAY WITH MY AUNT AND UNCLE SOMETIMES AND THE RADIO WAS IN THERE BASEMENT; I WOULD SPEND HOURS GOING THROUGH ALL THE STATIONS THAT IT PICKED UP. UNFORTUNATELY A HOUSE FIRE RUINED IT IN 84. I HAD IT WIRED TO MY CLOCK RADIO FOR THE FM AND IT WOULD SHAKE THE WHOLE SECOND FLOOR. I SURE WISH I COULD FIND ONE FOR SALE HERE IN CINCINNATI.
yea it takes awhile for the tubes to warm up
The radio in question is an RCA 13K from 1936. The service literature that the RCA dealer may have had is found in rca "REDBOOKS" which were available for each year's models,, they can still be found on EBAY.. You would need the 1936 redbook,,,, There was a condensed two volume set also.. The electrolytic filter condensers certainly need replacing if this set has any hope to work,, the originals were those round cylinders on the right hand side looking from the back of the chassis,,, Hope all this helps
The 13K and the 15K were virtually the same, except for 2 tubes. You can find the schematics on line. Or if you are aware of Riders Schematics, you can find them there.
i have the same in me house and i put mp3 on it woork good
