    Bought this brooch some years ago and still havent been able to identify it...

    Aprox 46 mm in diameter gilded white glass and more Italian mid century style than English.

    Marked Made in England and something figural under the needle se pictures?

    I think I solved the mystery, it seems to be an Orplid/Bimini glass brooch and maybe Lucie Rie

      If you do a search for 'roman cameo gorgoneion' or 'roman cameo medusa' you will find many examples of the sort of thing your pin is modeled after. Quite possible it was a souvenir of any museum that would have Roman antiquities in its collections. The Romans made cameos & intaglios using glass, so it is not completely inauthentic.
