Picked this Trunk up that the individual was in the middle of restoring and lost interest. It is a more rare body style than one normally comes across. It measures 34" long x 20" deep x 30" tall. Not really sure of the timeline. The interior is blank basically. The remaining lower half hardware is loose and came with the trunk. This one has all the die cast trimmings I like to see. It also has some initials on the top front and back slat clamp hardware which is a first for me. No solid proof who made them or what they stand for yet. It also has the large swivel castor wheels on the bottom patent 1881 & 1883, which is my second encounter with this type. The bottom corner hardware with the brick pattern on it, looks to have been made specifically for these swivel wheels which is kind of interesting. The lock is marked on the back..missed that shot but, patented 1883 as well. Fatboy64 has one like this style I can use as an interior model. I wish this one had the session hinges an shoulders and for that matter covered in leather as his is ...lol Not big on the color, but the trims are great and being a body style I don't have is always an added bonus.
It's beautiful. I have one similar style. Wheel patented is 1855. I do have the insides to mine. Its posted to my page here.
Hey Lamplover78, I have admired yours many times. It is the oldest I have seen so far. Your very fortunate to have a piece of this age and condition. Great find indeed!!

Some patents that may apply!
Another nice find. Your house must look like an early 1900s railroad depot by now. I'm jealous. LOL
Thanks Fatboy64 I wish this had the interior complete like yours..I posted that same statement on another one which I thought this was the trunk in question but apparently not...lol Nothing wrong with doubling up Thanks for the love as well. These are stored in a large shipping container with shelves. One must stay organized...lol
Thanks so much Drill for your info as always it is very much appreciated!
Thanks for the loves!!!
