I am very happy to be able to share this vase with you - I believe it is quite an unusual Fritz Heckert decor. It features an off-white opalescent body that is then speckled with blue spots in roughly four different sections of the vase, and threaded in blue. The rim is bronze (perhaps brass), with a nice Art Nouveau seed pod or bud motif. When I first bought this vase at auction, I thought it may have been a Pallme Konig piece, since they made is slightly similar decor in red. However, this vase was different enough from that decor that I started doing more research, and found an example of the same decor at Passau, in the Heckert case (image 4). I have since found a few other examples of this decor, all attributed to Heckert. The vase measures 4-1/4" (10.8cm) tall by 5-1/2" (14cm) in diameter. The blue is vibrant and beautiful - this is really a favorite of mine!

Thank you Phil! I am so glad you like it. The 4th picture isn't mine though - it is of a piece in Passau. :)

Hi bambus, yes it is - I just checked, and it glows green very brightly. Oddly, it didn't occur to me to check this earlier; it doesn't look to the naked eye like it would be, as some vases do.

Thanks Craig! I am glad you like it; I am really drawn to vases with blue, but they are a bit less common. I agree - this is a very pretty shade. :)

Such a lovely balance between all the elements of this vase. The 'plain' surface looks veritably silky!

Hi Sammyz, yes, I do. I'd be happy to email copies to you if you'd like.

Thank you, sklo! It is very silky, and I agree with your comment about balance; I like that the spatter is asymmetrical and not all over the entire body.

Sammyz, you once bought a piece of glass from me; can I contact you via your email to send you the Heckert images? Let me know. :)

Michelle - the blue and white vase in the 4th photo (same decor as yours) used to be in Case 21 of the Kralik room at Passau.

      Thanks Bambus; good to know!
