I just purchased this saw in pristine condition at a ReStore. I have been searching day and night and can only find 2 sites listing this saw at all. This saw is different from all I have seen, including the 2 I have seen, as it has a single large medallion that says Warranted Extra and the three additional "screws" are Warranted Superior medallions. The Warranted Extra medallion has a PAT'd 31 1867 date. There isn't a single broken tooth and the nib is still on the end of the blade. I have now come across some saws with 3 medallions after looking into this, but cannot find a single saws that had 4 medallions. Any additional information anyone could provide would be great.

      Made by Disson I believe.

Thank you for your reply. I have a few Disston saws that are clearly marked Disston; however this one only says Warranted Extra and Warranted Superior. If there were any etchings on the blade I don't think I'll be able to save them.

I agree a Disston saw. Made for a secondary line. Check out Disstonian site.

Thank you for your replies. I have looked at the Disstonian site for other saws and have had great results. However the odd thing about this saw are the 4 medallions. I am just wondering how rare of a saw this is because of that.

I see you have this posted on other web sites, and still no answer? If that is still the case, i would contact erik, at the disstonian institute, with the photos you posted and see what he says. Just don't ask him how much it is worth, as he does not appraise.

Good Luck, and please let us know what he says.
