This card says "Greeting's From Germany" from an enlisted man ( a late relative of mine)
who fought in Europe, during World War II, for the US in the 3rd Armored Division. He was wounded in the
fighting in Europe, but recovered to join in the occupation of Germany, and later to return home to complete his life after the war.
He was a relative that I always liked.
Mother wrote the following about him..."He fought in many battles, but worst was
'The Battle of the Bulge'. Separated from his company, and lived with family in Belgium for awhile."
I was told that he was wounded at one point late in the war. He drove a tank.
After the war he struggled with his feelings about being so close to combat, and being wounded,
and nearly killed in the war, but I am told that he came to terms with most of these feelings before his death many years later.
I served in Germany early 80's. This is My Unit 3rd Armor Division, 3/32 at Ray Barracks in Friedberg Germany.
Thank you for serving, Dizzydave.
There is a Facebook page "I was Stationed at Ray Barrack", if Your on Facebook join up, may be People who knew You relative and they would Love to see this pic or any others. Thx for Posting!!
