Here's a difficult one or two:

    From top:
Conversation in front of a bridge and a castle. Oil on paper glued to board. 16 cm x 22 cm.
People around a bridge. Oil on cardboard. 16 cm x 20 cm.

Probably two different artists from Western Europe. Early 19th century.

No signatures, labels or other clues on the backsides.

Even if you only recognize one of the artists, don't hesitate to tell me !

I think they are oilettes which a lot of postcard makers used in the very early 1900's. These are later. oilettes are printed on paper or thicker paper or cardboard and usually show the oil strokes and/or they use a plate to recreate brush strokes. I have series of them on postcards for instance.

Thank you PhilDMorris for your oilette theory. The paintings are in fact painted in real oilcolors and a conservator has given them a bit of restoration. She has cleaned them, restored tiny pieces of missing color and given them new lacquer.

definitely on canvas. you can see the different craquelure of the varnish on canvas in both of them in the first photo.
