I've seen boxes like this one at a US auction in 2015 with that description. 14 cm x 25 cm x 18 cm. If you have another theory about its origin, then tell me !

Very interesting piece, are those metal partitions that hold the pieces of bone on the surface of the box? It does have an Asian feel to it. But nothing specifically traditional for one country.
