    This necklace is about 34 inches long. It doesn't have a clasp. All coral beads (I believe they are angel skin) are hand-knotted. All but one coral bead are in perfect condition. I wish I knew more.

      Nice find!
      The carved ones are, it seems, ivory Canton puzzle beads (a moving other one inside!),
      the plain white are ivory too, perhaps 2 necklaces put together in an harmonious way :-)

      Many thanks for your insightful comments, kyratango! I suspected, too, that the larger, carved beads and the matching smaller ones are ivory. When you look closely, you can see the typical lines. I did, however, have no idea whatsoever what the beads are called, and therefore my search didn't turn up anything. Thanks again for your help.
