      This isn't your typical post "card" but sort of the same idea:
      From the US Post Office on the Hawaiian island of Molokai, I mailed whole coconuts in their outer husks, just as the were when they fell from the tree.
      The post office lobby has a bin of coconuts and a counter supplied with colored permanent markers.
      You draw or write whatever you choose on the coconut, write the address and return address as you normally would, hand it to the postmaster who applies postage, and you are done! It's a unique little adventure for the sender and a fun surprise for the recipient.... it's like getting a postcard, but Hawaiian style.
      My grandsons have kept the ones I sent them about 10 years ago even tho my designs have faded considerably.

      Coconut, leather, and copper are novelty type of postcards. They are cool to own.
