This is a late 30’s Hoffmann moped. It came out of an estate from the east coast. The story is the original owners’ father brought it back from germany as a prize during the war. His father ran kerosene in the motor to clean it out and ruined the engine bearings. So it’s sat in the barn for at least 50 years..... I done some research on it and discovered a photo that shows a glimps of the bike in the lower front corner.that has the same front end... I know it’s not a good shot but shows this type of bike being used.. The bike is equipped with a blackout switch along with the headlight switch... it blacks out the front light or the tail or both.... It also has all the original tools, air pump , bike horn. The licence plate it still on it although the lettering is long gone. The motor is a 98cc jlo 2stroke with a 2speed with neutral.. it operates as a bicycle with a hand brake and pedals back to operate the rear brake.. it’s is a ballon tire. 26 inch rims bike... currently I’m looking for the magito replacement..
They didn't cut any corners on strength. Isn't the magneto built into the flywheel ?
Nope it’s separate but internal.
