Just wondered if any one had any idea of this bottle was made for apart from obvious and how rare it is if at all as found in back of my dads garage when clearing it out i have tried to find but no joy and a bit puzzling to say the least
This was first released in November 1976. According to Park Royal Brewery, Foreign Guinness Triple X (as it was known) first started as a market test for "... a new strong brand of bottled Guinness called Triple X …" that went into 1,500 pubs, clubs and other outlets. It was brewed in Dublin, bottled by Guinness Exports (Liverpool) and then mostly distributed by John Bateson of Preston (a subsidiary). It was eventually released in 1990 as FES (Foreign Extra Stout). Overall, not rare but interesting as far as Guinness' marketing attempts.
