    Check out this rare pair of liberty bell glass shades on matching original oil lamps. It was very difficult to find the matching pair. The lamps were not converted to electricity. The burner is patent 1904-05 and they are made by Rayo. I don't know who made the rare shades.

      They are Rayo oil lamps as you have suggested that your parents had but these are functional with wicks for oil burning. I would have included more photos of the name and back side but they only allow for 4 photos. I have a really nice one that is (brass with 2 beautiful horses on the shade) instead of a Liberty Bell. I just love those old lamps.
